Christie McMahon
Greetings Bobcat families!
My name is Christie McMahon and I am privileged to serve as the principal of Mountain View Elementary School. I have been proud to serve in Burke County Public Schools for over nineteen years. I began my career in education as a classroom teacher in third, fourth, and fifth grade, and then as an Assistant Principal and a Principal. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Lees McRae College, my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Carolina University, and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner Webb University.
I am also a wife and mother of three. As a parent, I understand the importance of family and the valuable relationship between school and home. My experiences working with children have significantly impacted my core beliefs on how students learn best. I believe every student has the potential to grow. I believe that as educators we are here to help unlock a love of learning for students and help create a strong foundation for future success.
We have a wonderful school with lots of amazing opportunities for our students. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the students, families, and staff in our Mountain View community.
